For me, leafy perennials are the king of vegetable crops.
Create a garden & fill it with these plants and you’ll probably never buy salad & stir fry leaves again.
In the subtropics & tropics (where most of these plants are from) leafy perennials thrive during the wet season where many european vegetables wither & die. I’ve also found them to be largely pest free in my cool subtropical area.
All you need to know is that some will die down in winter and they’ll resprout (often more vigorously) when the weather conditions are right.
Great for beginners – the biggest problem you might face is they need hacking back as some can be rather invasive.
